Comment Moderation Softens the Image for the Bad Guys
If I so much as write – Trump is a rapist – comment moderators will side with Trump, and then, the swords come out. I get axed. Yet it’s civil for a columnist to articulate the same fact. There are several realities going on here. The reality of the rape. The reality of indifference to the rape. The reality he will never pay for any crimes committed. I would argue that Trump hates women. I would argue that playing kissy kissy with Trump, comment moderators (including the one in this photograph, and what she is moderating in civility itself), who keep one standard for their colleagues, and then we have the dumbing down, of us. This is where institutions fail the people who created the institution in the first place. We are a nation of sheep. We comply. We roll over. He wants to control how you act in your bedroom. He’s going for birth control next. That affects a lot of women. We actually believe the We Can Make It Better Dog and Pony Show Rhetoric. Show me one thing he did to make anything better for anyone. It is vile. Again, I would argue that the Americans who love him, in fact, love what reactions we have, and moderation becomes irrelevant. People like me light our hair on fire. NYT thinks we should be nice to the magas. He has highjacked American culture. He has all the permissions he needs. We must be nice to the rapists. The men who get away with it. Moderation makes homo sapiens like Trump smirk at the haha spots. He knows he’s winning because you have allowed it.
