I keep having to reiterate to each kid I deal with, that I am listening. There are times, however, when I pretend.
They know it.
And I know it.
There is an Ed Albee line from A Delicate Balance when the character, Tobias, turns to the character, Claire, and says, “It’s all too much. It’s all too much.”
So they end up sitting me down and confronting me with “You Are Not Listening.”
You have to grab my attention like some demon grabs my balls.
