the jumping in
this time the jumping in has to do with sex/ you do mix it up with relationships and i am okay with that/ but i am not the point/ it’s not about me/ it’s about you/ it’s about all the jumping in/ i am here to tell you that i am not here to prevent you from jumping into the next big thing on your list of things you will be checking out/ there are a lot of parental types who want to force me to be the jumping in police and it’s just something i am not much interested in doing/ playing cop is disingenuous/ your eyes are always fixed on what is right here, right now, and it’s hard for adults to deal with that/ then, let me just spit it out/ you have jumped into love this time/ this is big girl jumping in/ this will hurt/ it will/ it always does/ you are in love and you are treading water, and so is he/ jumping in can be a thing worth stealing, and the rest of us are thieves/ all the wrists of hot july were thin and defiant/ you were jumping in/ i don’t know how else to do it without doing it/ there is no long term study or curriculum where a doctorate can inform you and imbue you with everything that can happen, wisdom is a lie, and everything will, indeed, happen in the jumping in/ because it always does/ there is a rush to it traveling through our hearts and veins/ an addiction/ jumping in is the continent of dreams and bones/ and from your bed of tongues allow yourself to visualize the map/ someone else’s body traveling not unlike a junkie’s, too, through your heart and veins, off into the shadows at the edge of dread where the rest of us have disappeared/ having dived from the boat directly into the water of the floods that are to come/ hungry for such lips as yours that dance upon your water’s throat/
