Food Stamps: $31.00 per Week for Food
He is losing weight. There is hunger in America. Children always pay the price.
Senate Republicans are opposing any increase in food stamps for kids.
At twelve, he’s not flourishing. He’s floundering.
Medically, he’s now in the highest risk group you can fall into the cracks. It’s a hard fall. Usually, it’s death.
He’s allowed by the government Four dollars and fifty cents a day. This comes to about $1.50 a meal.

At Mar-a-Lago, $1.50 won’t buy you a cup of coffee. $200,000.00 will buy you a membership. A cup of coffee at Maralaga will cost you twenty bucks. Trump is making out like a fucking bandit while children starve to death. Five-thousand migrant children live in cement block shacks 15 miles west of Mar-a-Lago.
Migrant children who help pick our crops are systemically abused. Many of the fields they work in (owned by companies like Quaker Oats) are sugar cane fields surrounded by barbed wire fences, and patroled by dogs. German shepherds and dobermans.
In the 1940’s, the Nazi’s did that, too.
Food now costs a fortune.
We need to protest the United States senate. Perhaps, we should send our children to do it. We need to demand food. Lives are hanging in the balance.
Today, there is almost nothing to find to eat in a dumpster.
Falling between the cracks is more than a metaphor.
