Church Shoes, Ah – by Tay

At the ripe old age of sixteen, Tay is what the government and the AIDS orgs (both kinda the same thing) call “The Hard To Reach.”

We blame them. The Hard To Reach. Shame on them, right.

Supposedly, it’s all their fault.

I guess someone has to be the fall guy.

It can’t be the gay community so much because they have money to fight back, and mainly, they’re white.

That means it has to be some other cultural outlier.

And we all know who that is.

The white institutions have washed their hands of anyone not like them.

The name alone – HARD TO REACH – has become a cliché. An invention of the CDC’s imagination. Is there anyone with half a brain who thinks the CDC has even tried to reach the Hard To Reach. Something for the mainstream to hang their hats on. Assigning blame. Someone will have to pay.

Tay refuses to go anywhere near the designated government-run clinic because they have cops at the door with guns.

No shit.

The cop cowboys take your name and ask you to explain why you are there.

Does anyone remember being in the second grade when we were all told the police are your friends?

They will shoot you dead and they always, always get away with it.

The cops are god.

P1 cleaner than your church shoes, ah.
