I took this photograph with a GoPro from a New York City fire escape where I was living.
In a place they call the rabbit hole.
I have explored and lived in holes most of my life.
And I am here to tell you that the darkness we know is there emanates from our own rancid guts. Our own holes. Our own fear. Our own unknown.
The dark knight has arrived.
Donald Trump will be held accountable.
To us.
He stands accused. He will be banished. Donald Trump will be lucky to be banished.
Even then, the disease is us.
The hard part will be the challenge for the American people to look long and deep for how that man was enabled to lead us.
But lead us where. To another moonless abyss.
The American people were not forced into the juxtaposition between evil versus evil. The American people went to the edge all by themselves and the arrogance of it has been ruin unleashed. Everything from the environment to race to quarantine to economics to capitalism itself has been reduced to a mockery.
We have been taken to the Dark Knight’s lair. And we have met ourselves.
