And then he caved.
There are many Americans who worship the great cult leader. They claim to know that he will live forever.
What does that mean. It means he will be shielded by his guards (and we will pay for it) for a very long time. I predict prison. Most dictators live happily ever after. Not all. Raw presidential power has a long history related to dictators. The power of raw cruelty. Let us call the truth the truth.
The following is simply a list of facts. They are in no way impertinent or uncivil. Facts cannot be uncivil. Because they’re just facts. They have no politics. They have no agenda. These things happened in the past. That is all this is. A list. “Let us sit upon the ground. And tell sad stories of the death of kings; How some have been deposed; some slain in war, Some haunted by the ghosts they have deposed; Some poison’d by their wives: some sleeping kill’d; All murder’d: for within the hollow crown.”
Shakespeare always has the last word. Fiction. Reality is more profound.
Hitler: Shot himself. Then burned like a pile of leaves. The Russians found his ashes. Some of the corpse was untouched. His remains are still in Russia. No one knows where.
Stalin: Found on the floor soaked in urine.
Mussolini: Hung upside down at a gas station.
Caesar: Knifed.
Tojo: Hanged.
Gaddafi: Sodomized. Shot.
Ceaucescu: Shot.
A little list. That is all this is. We all know who writes history.
Power backfires.
So does tenure. History speaks volumes. And then he caved. Legacy.
