It is difficult to stomach the victorious, scorched-earth Trump has left us with. We are breathlessly irrelevant. Still in shock from 2016. Shock, too, is irrelevant. It is more than shocking to hear a Republican call for unity. Where is the evidence that Republicans are even slightly, actually seeking unity.
There is no unity.
There has never been unity. There will be no unity. Republicans are gloating because they know that, and no one believes for a minute they want unity. What Republicans want is revenge.
America is over. It is difficult for Americans to understand that they have created a failed state. What Americans understand is irrelevant. Revenge is relevant.
How is it that someone who is a billionaire, and won the presidency, is so wounded and aggrieved that he seeks revenge. What he seeks is dominance. Now, he has it.
America’s love affair with the rich precludes the fact that when it comes to the accumulation of wealth, there is no end to it, no final destination, no enough is enough. They want it all.
Capitalism has failed. We are living under an oligarchy. How is it you can fear something that is already eating you alive. I would never advocate revolution because it would be viciously traitorous to watch you being eaten alive. But there it is.
The real power in America, like most oligarchies, and banana republics, rests with the military. The soldiers who will kill you if you dare to disobey. Who has the most guns. Revolutions are irrelevant.
