I don't post too many images of myself. Usually, I'm in photographs that are kinda candid, but when I was working in SPED w/ kids, the chaos was baked into what works for you. The kid would gulp, think, and then, he would tell me what works with and for him. Please be nice to me was a common sentiment. They are simply not going to rock and roll if they think you are going to punish them for it. So many of my kids learned by doing. They don't always learn a thing if that thing is printed in a book. They can learn new things with both text, and one-on-one. I would take them fishing. The reason it worked, the reason it has always worked, is because you can talk while you are doing something (catching fish) not related to what you are talking about. You can communicate anyway. What I wanted them to know is that there are a hundred ways to reach out to people who might reach out to you, too.
